Summer is Here!

Greetings Inner Athletes! I hope this post finds you well. The summer has finally arrived today after a long cold brutal winter and a spring that took what seemed to be forever to morph into summer. I just wrapped up my teaching position for the year and am looking forward to lots of outdoor activities and sunshine.

One of the local running paths near my home on a warm, wet summer morning. I truly enjoy running in the drizzly, and mystic rain.

This summer we will be holding a self protection course in NYC in Tribecca. I am currently waiting on confirmation from the location and once the date is confirmed I will let all of you know. It may actually be July 19th but if not it will be shortly afterwards. If you haven't attended, or even if you have, I encourage you to take advantage of it as my public classes are only a couple times a year whereas my corporate work is weekly. There is much to be learned from these classes as the topics go beyond fighting, and as reported by many testimonials, people walk away with a new paradigm in understanding conflict. More on this when I confirm the date.

I will also be presenting to a graduate class at Montclair State University next week on the history of physical culture. I hope to record it and post excerpts on the Inner Athlete Trainer youtube channel.

In other news the foot injury I was struggling with is all healed and my running miles are beginning to stack up again after a long hiatus. Injuries are never fun but they are part of the journey and offer new opportunities in growth, patience, and acceptance. See my previous blog on how to look at wins and losses for more insight on this topic.

Lastly I was honored recently to be a guest on the Activist Post podcast called Macro Aggressions hosted by Charlie Robinson. I've attached the link here. In this interview I expand not only on the Inner Athlete Training brand, but we take a deep dive into chapters of my personal history that informed this path in health in wellness that I have chosen. The conversation is rich and goes down some rabbit holes concerning the history and politics of health I do not generally share in my videos and blogs. Please enjoy!

Please stay hydrated and outdoors during these summer months. More content to come this year to educate and inspire you on your health journey. This is also fruit season so make sure you consume plenty of watermelon, blueberries and all the other delicious, nutritious, and hydrating fruits currently in season. These fruits are rich in antioxidants, fiber, enzymes and nutraceuticals. So eat up or put them in your protein smoothies and drink up. Don't forget to add some extra vitamin C to help mop up some of the photo oxidative impact from the sun.

I really enjoy hearing from you so please keep the questions and the emails coming so we can keep the conversation going. If you haven't already please avail yourself of the free 12 page PDF offered on the website called Understanding Strength for Beginners.

Will be in touch shortly
